Using Listen Translate

Listen Translate turns compatible iPhone system audio into source subtitles and translations. It requires internet access, an authenticated app account, explicit cloud-processing consent and available service allowance. You confirm each broadcast through iOS. Recognition and translation may be inaccurate, delayed or unavailable; verify important content against the source. The app does not guarantee capture from every app, a fixed delay or uninterrupted service. Home offers floating captions, interpretation, transcription and text translation. Transcription can pause, resume and save audio with text. In interpretation you explicitly choose the speaker; capture ends before speech playback, and playback never automatically reopens the microphone. Automatic speech is off by default. Text translation requires explicit submission and user-selected retries. History has four module categories with rename, favorites, copy, export and delete. Caption settings preview original, translated or bilingual text.

App license and eligibility

For App Store distribution, the app license follows Apple's Standard End User License Agreement unless a custom license is supplied in the store. These service terms do not replace Apple's purchase terms or remove mandatory consumer rights. Applicable service regions, age requirements and any additional local terms: This initial version is for adults aged 18 or older. Under-18s must not register or use it. First use requires an affirmative age declaration; we do not request a birth date or identity document, and this is not verified identity-based age assurance. Plans and minutes

Each paid Pro monthly window includes 180 standard minutes, usable for 180 minutes of translation or 360 minutes of new transcription, or a mix; plus 180,000 text characters and 3,000 processing calls. An eligible, explicitly claimed one-time trial includes 5 standard minutes, 5,000 characters and 100 calls. Subscription credits do not roll over. Annual billing grants credits monthly. One active audio session per account, up to 120 minutes each. Audio packs contain 60 or 180 standard minutes; the single text pack contains 50,000 characters and 1,000 calls. Neither pack adds the other resource. Monthly and annual Pro members can buy credits with an active, paid subscription. One-time purchase. No auto-renewal. Purchased credits never expire and remain usable after your subscription ends. Uses current subscription credits first, then valid trial credits, then purchased credits.

Unique accepted audio spends standard minutes: floating captions and interpretation use 1×, new transcription uses 0.5×. Redelivery never charges twice; silence can count, and recognition or translation failures do not automatically refund accepted audio. Text characters and processing calls are separate from audio. Success spends characters; started or uncertain processing spends one call, except a definite service-cost budget admission denial. Check unknown outcomes with the same request identity. Status checks and local saves do not charge again. Purchasing never automatically retries processing or restarts capture.

Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

The App Store purchase sheet shows the applicable local price, billing period and renewal details before you confirm. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Requests for refunds of Apple-billed purchases go through Apple, subject to eligibility and applicable consumer law. Deleting this app, deleting your app account or withdrawing processing consent does not cancel the subscription.

Use Restore Purchases in the app with the purchasing Apple Account and the corresponding app account. The service must verify the purchase and its account ownership before enabling benefits. Pending or unverified purchases do not grant immediate access. Subscription benefits are not freely transferable between app accounts; contact support if ownership cannot be resolved. Minimal paid-window receipts survive account deletion and contain opaque purchase identity, audio/character/call counters and dates, with no audio or text content. Periodic cleanup starts 35 days after the window, including verified grace; faults may delay it. Non-expiring audio/text packs retain minimal transaction, ownership digest, grant/use and refund receipts without expiry; deletion detaches the account. Restoring the same purchase never resets usage. Finished consumables do not restore automatically: original-transaction and ownership verification can restore only the remaining balance.

Your content and responsibilities

Use audio you are entitled to capture and process, and obtain any permissions required from other people. Follow applicable law and the source service's terms. Do not use the service to bypass protected-content restrictions, infringe others' rights, evade account or quota controls, or disrupt the service. You retain your rights in your content; using the app does not grant us ownership of it. Processing and sharing for your requested translation are described in the privacy policy.

Service changes and assistance

We may restrict processing when account authorization, safety, capacity, provider availability or service limits require it. The app should show an error rather than a fabricated translation. Temporary recovery is limited to the disclosed retention windows and is not a backup guarantee. Preserve important final history with the export feature before deleting it.
